Crush On You

Some Odd Girl now has their own little Internet community.  If you love SOG or just need some crafty inspiration, you should go check it out here.
The Odd Girls have been hosting some fun challenges this week and I decided to play along with one.  I was challenged to use a NON colored SOG image, chipboard and a punched edge.

Here's what I came up with, a Valentine tag. The hearts are chipboard, I used an edge punch on the white paper, and my non colored image is Squeezy Hugs.
The hubs wanted to know what the V's were for. He thought the skinny hearts were the letter V.  So I  asked my son what he sees and and he also said V's.  Then I asked my daughter and another girl...they both saw hearts.  Does that say a little something about the differences between men and women?  What do you see, hearts or the letter "V"?

Party Chihuahua

I'm always in the mood for a party....just like this little Chihuahua.  He is a digi design by 2 Cute Ink and right now you can get him for free when you drop by their Facebook page. They are also having a challenge using this image and this card is my entry.
Products used: Party Chihuahua Doggie digital image by 2 Cute Ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug embossing folder, MME pattern paper

This image made me think of my own little yellow Chihuahua.  His name is Taco and he is a party doggie too.

Bee Mine

You'll find no pink on these Valentine's Day card.  I went all yellow for this cute little bee.  He is from Paper Smooches and I just think he is adorable. You can find this free digi image and more on the Paper Smooches blog.  I colored him with Copics and added some glitter to his little wings.  I found the thought bubble stamp in the dollar bin at Joann's and the pattern paper is Hobby Lobby brand.

These cards are headed to some of the college kids from my church.  Are you making Valentine's Day cards this year? Who will you be sending them to?

SOG Sketch Challenge

It's time for another sketch challenge over at the Some Odd Girl blog.  My entry is a Valentine card that uses the SOG digi called "Squeezey Hugs".  I colored this sweet image to look like me and my hubby.  He told me I colored his hair too gray, but it's right on if you ask me. ;-)  The sentiment is a free digi from Paper Smooches and I found the heart doilies in the dollar section as Target.

Here's the sketch:

This is my take on the sketch:

Aren't they a sweet little couple?!?

Crochet Hook Organizer

The new year is a great time to get organized...right down to your crafty supplies.  I'm constantly having to dig around in my crochet bag to find my hooks, so I made a crochet hook organizer using a pattern I found at the blog Little Birdie Secrets. Just click on the link to get the pattern.

This is the outside front.  It closes up nicely. The fabric is Alexander Henry Olive Green with Colourful Mushrooms.  I found it at Joann's.

It has a place for scissors and  needles too.  I used elastic for the scissor holder.

There are a lot of slots for your hooks.  The pattern gives great measurements.
