CD Cover

I made this CD cover using a Some Odd Girl stamp set. I know most people are using their iPods these days instead of CD's, but they still come in handy sometimes. I thought this would be great if you have a little one that dances - you could make a her CD of her dance recital music so she can practice with it.

Amtrak: D.C. to NYC

It has been a couple of years since our D.C./NYC vacation and I am just now getting around to doing a scrapbook page about it.  I did this page after I started taking the Scrapbooking Family Vacations Workshop with Nancy Damiano at Two Peas in a Bucket.  {I won the workshop from a contest over from the Creatively Savvy blog - Thanks Susan!}  I have finished two chapters in the workshop and I am loving it so far.  I'm learning how to organize vacation memorabilia and pictures, learning new techniques, and getting to see some beautiful layouts.  I highly recommend this workshop!

The paper is from the Basic Grey "wander" collection.

I got the idea to make this little clear envelope from the workshop. I made it with my Silhouette cutting machine. When you pull the tickets out you can still see the rest of the picture, which is more trains.  Being able to view the tickets through the envelope allows you to see the date, place, seat number, etc.

I made the edge of my journaling look like a postage stamp with decorative scissors.

The little popped up arrow is also from Basic Grey.

Princess Tiana Card

I have made another card with the Some Odd Girl "Royal" stamp set. I think I am obsessed with this set. ;-) It is fun to color her up as any princess you want her to be and Disney princesses are my favorite. This time I was thinking of The Princess and the Frog with Princess Tiana.  She is colored with Copic markers.  Her dress is paper pieced with green card stock, but highlighted with Copics and all glittered up to look magical. Her little frog is a Stampin' Up! stamp, but his crown is from the SOG Royal collection.

Castaway Creek

I love water parks and nobody does it better than Walt Disney World.  This layout is all about Castaway Creek, the lazy river at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park.  It is sooo relaxing and something the entire family enjoys.  On this day there was a thunder storm, so everyone had to get out of the water until it was gone.  It was a perfect time to get some pictures while lazy river was empty.

Cinderella...Odd Girl style!

If you like Some Odd Girl stamps and you like Princesses, then this card is for you.
The castle part of the card is made using my Silhouette cutting machine.
Cinderella is made using the Some Odd Girl "Royal" stamp set.  Isn't she pretty??
Cinderella must have her glass slippers, right? I gave her some by adding a diamond glaze to her shoes.
Her little crown is included in the stamp set.  I just colored it silver and blinged it up a little.

May the force be with you.

I made this Star Wars cake for a sweet little boy I know that is turning seven.  I went a little over board with the decorations, but when it comes to kids, they think more is better anyway.

This is a vanilla cake with butter cream icing. The stars and words are made with fondant. The Storm Troopers around the bottom of the cake are rings and the light sabers are cupcake picks.  These can be shared with the party guests.

These little guys are just regular toys.  I did hot glue toothpicks to the feet so they would stay on the cake better. The birthday boy can keep them to play with when the cake is gone.  They are the perfect size and cost less than a real cake topper did at the cake store.

Sketch Challenge

I made this summer card for the Sketch Challenge over at Some Odd Girl. Paper's used: yellow card stock, Bo Bunny-Hello Sunshine Dot, and My Mind's Eye-Out of the Blue-Family-Speckle.

The little crab is made with a small punch from the Dollar Tree.
This sweet girl and her sand toys are from the Some Odd Girl "Beach Day Buddies" stamp set.
